Festa de São José Operário
Nos dias 21 e 22 de maio estarei realizando a primeira festa na comunidade desde que assumi com Presidente no início do ano, esta em homenagema a São José Operário nosso padroeiro. Desde janeiro procurei resgatar a história de nossa comunidade e muitas curiosidades vieram a tona, uma riqueza cultural de uma época em que tudo era novidade lá por meados dos anos 40 quando a comunidade igreja foi criada, assim como o Cruz de Malta e o Salão do Sr. Aristides, famoso local de festas sociais da época que permaneceu ativo por mais de três décadas.
Neste trabalho de pesquisa surgiu aidéia de homenagear algumas pessoas da comunidade ainda vivas e que viveram aqueles anos, pessoas a qual passamos a chamar de pioneiros e que na tarde do domingo dia 22, receberão uma homenagem de parte da comunidade valorizando estas seis décadas de deidcação a comunidade. Ao todo serão 16 pioneiros, 15 deles acima de 80 anos que iremos homenagear e lembrar um pouco de nosso passado que é muito rico e não pode ser esquecido, e nada mais justo que esta homenagem seja realizada em vida para estas pessoas que levantarama Rua Nova, atualmente Mampituba.

Muito tem se a se fazer para que o turismo tome corpo e torne se uma atividade presente junto a população de Mampituba. É preciso preparar a nossa população para este novo desafio, mas também é imprescindível que se mostre para o mundo que Mampituba existe e que aqui existem vários atrativos qu merecem ser visitados. Outra tarefa importante é de levar Mampituba até os órgãos governamentais ligados ao turismo e semana passada o Rato, o Chiquinho e a Ana estiveram participando do Fórum Estadual de Turismo em Porto Alegre onde estavam as principais lideranças políticas do Estado e aos poucos Mampituba está tomando seu espaço entre os principais pontos turísticos do RS e para isso a participação nestes encontros é de extrema importância.

Turismo em Mampituba virou tema de escola
Uma iniciativa da Secretaria de Educação merece elogios em Mampituba, trata-se da inclusão do turismo como tema na sala de aula. Uma turma formada por 17 alunos que cursam entre a 6ª e a 8ª série e ministrada pelo colega Chiquinho transforma-se numa semente que a médio e longo prazo promte produzir frutos importante na implantação da cultura do turismo como alternativa econômica para o município e uma das saídas mais inteligentes de segurar o agricultor em sua propriedade.
